"Tell your story" is born from the cooperation of a team of professionals with different backgrounds, experiences and ages, who share the deep belief that preserving, sharing and listening to lifetime memories of people serves a fundamental social purpose.
We offer a modern interview system, which restores importance to oral stories about our experiences and helps their safekeeping and dissemination. The stories are recorded automatically via voice messages, in a quick and intuitive way.
Listening to and collecting people"s life memories means restoring value to their personal experiences and, especially in the case of the elderly, mitigating their isolation. Telling helps seniors remember, while relatives and friends can search for and discover specific information in their oral stories.
The transcripts preserve the freshness and emotions of the spoken language. They are not a re-elaboration of the story and do not try to correct the errors and the peculiarities of the spoken language. They are a faithful account of the words used by the storytellers. Of course if you wish you can edit and correct them.
Stories can both be used to create family archives, handed down between generations, as well as become part of the collective "history", told by everyone, without distinction of social class, age, gender or role.
While Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social platforms focus on the moment, the short text and the image, we focus on the long term, the human voice and the story.
Stories are recorded as short or long voice messages, following lists of questions, or in free form. The recording requires only a smartphone and an enabled Telegram account.
Besides listening to the live narrator"s voice, stories are automatically transcribed, and keywords are extracted to help find interesting points.
The stories are made available on personal web pages, that are accessible only to those who recorded them, to relatives or friends with whom you want to share them, or, if you wish, to the whole world. The copyright of the stories remains yours (under the CC-BY open license).
